Counseling Supervision

Coming March 2024

Our counseling supervision service is designed to support and guide Limited Licensed Counselors (LLC) in Michigan, a title updated in 2022 from the previous Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) designation. This crucial phase in your professional development is not only a licensing requirement but also a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Benefits of Supervision:

  • Skill Enhancement: Supervision provides an avenue to enhance your counseling skills through feedback, discussion, and reflection.

  • Professional Identity Development: Engage in developing a strong, ethical professional identity as a counselor.

  • Case Consultation: Gain insights and perspectives on case management, therapeutic techniques, and client interactions.

  • Navigating Ethical Dilemmas: Learn to effectively navigate ethical dilemmas and challenging scenarios in practice.

Licensing Requirements:

  • As an LLC/LLPC, a period of professional practice is required before advancing to a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) status. To make this transition, you must accumulate a minimum of 3,000 hours of clinical work experience and 100 hours of clinical supervision under the guidance of a qualified Licensed Professional Counselor. Typically, LLCs/LLPCs complete this process within approximately two years, a necessary step towards independent practice as an LPC.

  • Our supervision service fulfills these regulatory requirements, providing you with the necessary oversight and guidance. An LLC/LLPC can only be renewed for a maximum of 10 years.

Our Approach to Supervision:

  • Collaborative Learning Environment: We foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment, encouraging open dialogue and shared experiences.

  • Tailored Supervision Strategies: Recognizing that each supervisee has unique needs, we tailor our supervision approach to align with your individual learning style and professional goals.

  • Focus on Best Practices: Our supervision is grounded in current best practices, ensuring you are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills.

  • Ethical and Cultural Competency: We emphasize the importance of ethical practice and cultural competency, preparing you to work effectively with diverse populations.

Commitment to Excellence: Our goal is to support you in becoming a competent, confident, and compassionate counselor. Through our supervision service, you will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your counseling career and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those you serve.
